History of the building

The coach house was designed by Joseph Walter Turner in 1894 and served the Mount, a grand Victorian building constructed for a wealthy local businessman.

In 1990 the present owner bought the property in a derelict condition and started a long renovation and improvement of the property culminating in an upper floor extension in 1997 once planning permission refusal had been appealed and won.

The local civic society had been keeping watch on the property and in 1992 were awarded a civic society award for the renovation works carried out.

The finished property is in keeping with its traditional design and blends very well into the local scene.
